I've got a WAP plug in for Internet Explorer and would like to know if
anyone knows of an emulator for the pocketpc browser.

I am after purchasing a handheld but want to know what web sites I
will not be able to access.

I understand there is a problem with encryption so some of the bank
sites may not be available.

I know quite a few people with handhelds but haven't yet met one who
has accessed the web with it.

Geoff,

The Pocket PC SDK includes an emulator you can use to browse web and wap
sites. You can get it from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/.

Pocket PC 2002 did not include support for WTLS which is likely why some
WAP-based banking sites won't work. Pocket PC 2003 adds support for WTLS.
The browser in both versions supports SSL, so you can always access the HTML
version of the banking site.

Thanks for the info, it was the HTML version of bank sites that I was
referring to.

smile.co.uk seem to think it will not work but I am not overly
impressed with some of the so called technical support from these
sites.

Out of interest - the WTLS you refer to, is that related only to WAP
sites?
