Hi folks,

I've just got myself a Clie-ux50 and am looking for a gps solution. I
have found a cheap(ish) tomtom bluetooth receiver but I don't know if
it will work with my clie, I'd also need to get some software too.

Can anyone tell me if this will work or not please?

If not then I think I'll have to save up (or ask Santa!) for the tomtom
go all in one unit instead.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris,

You may want to try the Earthmate Bluetooth Enabled Blue Logger GPS.
It should work with your Clie as long as it is NMEA compliant. The
Blue Logger is a traditional NMEA compliant receiver and data logger
in one.

What kind of maps are you looking for? Street Level?

Here is a link to the Blue Logger.

Hope this helps,
Denise

I'm not sure I know what a data logger is so I can't say if I need one
or not!

I'm looking for street level maps for the UK primarily as it's going to
be used for driving directions mostly.

Try download mapopolis. www.mapopolis.com

The program is free and you can download demo maps free that work for
9 days to see if things are working. County maps cost 10 dollars each
(so all of london costs about 6 quid) or you can get an all of Europe
map pack for 100 dollars. Will give you some ideas for very little
outlay.

ps If you want to load maps onto the memory card rather than into ram
use the "beta" version of mapopolis 2.20 which is actually very stable
and uses maps straight from the card.
